Edgar Rice Burroughs - Thuvia, Maid of Mars

Yup back to the art that is pulp, sci-fi pulp no less. I love these serials. Great characters, no complexes, you know what you are going to get and it is fun. High end adventure without knowing what crazy new plot awaits or who you might run into. It is curious that by Book 4, ERB had moved beyond John Carter and on to his son. I think Book 5 then goes into telling of John Carter's daughter, Tara? Good fun not for sure if I like the dead race that could conjure up armies, kind of a strange twist. Also thought that towards the end ERB seemed to rush some things to conclusion. It just seemed to read funny and then at the end Thuvia's future mate just goes along and give's up Thuvia to Carthoris and then the book ends. I would have thought they'd at least get married at the end or start off in Book 5 but no dice. Gee wonder if there is a missing book or two?
