Fascinating book. Confusing and frustrating but beautifully written. Kind of like reading a sci fi Sound and the Fury. Passages were simply unobtainable in the understanding department but instances of clarity kind of kept the plot in site. The only disappointment was the book just kind of ended without a really definite finish. Big build up and then either the author ran out of ideals (or possibly whatever drug of choice he was using!). Went on line to try and get another view and there is nothing out there giving any great in depth analysis...too bad would have been nice to fill in some of the gaps...

Hi. David Herter here. Cool to come across this. (Every month or so I google my name; can't resist). Thanks for the review. I like the Sound and Fury comment. Regarding the sudden stop -- Ceres Storm was always intended to be part of a larger series. Five books in all. Due to sales and marketing, the plan fell through. But now there's renewed interest, and the series is currently being considered at a major publishing house. The first two volumes tell the same story from different perspectives, a child's POV (Ceres Storm), and a worldy adult's POV (Yan Tan Tethera). Yan Tan Tethera is finished, and a volume of unpublished prequel novellas (In the Photon Forests) is being wrapped up. It's my hope to sell the five-book series, titled The Wilderness of Ruin, in the near future, and thereby satisfy your curiosity about what the heck was going on in Ceres Storm.
By the way, my author blog is:

Thanks again!
