Oscar Ramblings

Just some thoughts on the 82nd Academy Awards

- Oscar openings are just painful for both the hosts and award nominees. I imagine the actors are just cringing underneath

- Who was running the "mikes", terrible job of shutting them off from the announcers

- Oh why, oh why do you shut 'mikes" of people who win...this is usually their one moment of fame, allow them their 15 minutes dammit...who cares if the ceremony runs over.

- Nice tribute to John Hughes...what an amazing movie mind. The actors he touched and fans he created...I mean he defined the 80s for me

- Why do black people always have the best acceptance speeches? Mo'Nique was heart felt and meaningful...although the original score guy was pretty good too.

- A tribute to Horror...really?

- Who picks a sound editor, is it the director, the producer...

- Roy Disney passed away this year? Interesting to hear the applause for some...

- Interpretive dance for Original Scores?

- I thought it was supposed to be "and the Oscar goes to...." Much better than and the winner is...

- Maybe Jeff Bridges isn't too far from the Big Lebowski, MAN...I forget his dad played the incomparable Steve McCroskey

- British people always sound so much more elegant

- Sandra is so honest

- Hurt Locker was the big winner and first female director win!

- And now let the party (and grumblings) begin...
