Greg Rucka - A Gentleman's Game

Tara Chase's original novel adventure. Have to admit it would have been better for me to read this one before Private Wars. Obviously Private Wars follows this one and the anguish Tara feels would be a whole lot more meaningful. Tara's tale is a good one. This is a balanced story. Not quite a twist on Ludlum's level but a good spy novel all around. She is a good spy with a twist. She is very raw in a Bond sort of way without the pretentiousness of Bond. Rucka is a good read and after reading this novel I felt a bit closer to who Tara is and not so much as in Private Wars...perhaps I should go back in time and reread Tara's second outing to see if the character is a bit more exciting. Anyway great read...appears I will have to wait sometime for a third novel although there is like 9 graphic novels!
