Spiderman 3

The first blockbuster of 2007! Decent flick, great to see spidey back in action. One and Two were better tighter plotted movies and three seems a bit bloated. Had Sam gotten his way and left out Venom, I think the movie would have been better. The plot really rambles between Harry, Sandman, and Venom. First we deal with Harry, then Sandman comes around, but it turns out that Marko was the one who killed Ben, and then Spidey gets beat on, and then MJ and him have a falling out, and then the new suit comes into play, and blah blah blah. We have an action scent then we talk for about 20 minutes and then another action scene, then some humor...the plot just rambled and this goes on for about 2 hours and 20 minutes! Action scenes were spectacular but the Venom portion just seemed weak. You can definitely tell it was a last minute addition and it kind of shows. I think the one movie, one villain concept is the way to go. Didn't like the whole Gwen Stacey bit...it cheapen her character...and Topher was just a bad villain. Other all a good summer movie, plotting was shabby, but Spidey as the all American hero pulls through. Kirsten Dunst did a good job, Tobey's acting wore thin especially with the John Travolta dancing in the streets bit!

I'm going out on a limb but Pirates of the Caribbean will blow spidey out of the water later this summer...the preview looked way cool!
